In the centre of the Cyclades Islands you will find the popular Greek charter base is the rough-and-ready Naxos with the go to destinations such as Santorini and Mykonos located not too far into the distance.
A sailing holiday to Naxos would be different to what you would explore across the other islands and that is thanks to its most amazing countryside and being the home to the 1004m high peak that goes by the name of Mount Zeus. Most yacht goers visit the area in the late spring where you can depart on your journey up the peek you will find hills that are taken over with cattle, goats and sheep along with the vibrant green forest and villages.
Later on, in the afternoon why not heard over to the region of Chora and take a visit to the historical sites such as the unfinished Temple of Apollo and finish off the evening by watching the stunning sunset.
Naxos is also the home to some of the most glorious south-west facing coastlines which runs from the resort of Ágios Prokópios all the way through to the resort of Agiassós that is only separated by one small headlands. If you are more of an adrenaline junkie setting sail across to the western coastline and digging out the yacht toys on board would be perfect for you. The western coastline is known for its afternoon strong winds ideal for those that enjoy wind surfing and kite surfing.
