Charter Reservation & Payment Terms
1. Role of 24 Sailing Holiday
24 Sailing Holiday acts solely as an intermediary booking agent between the client and the yacht owner, charter operator, or their authorised management company.
We:
-
Source and present suitable yachts
-
Facilitate enquiries and bookings
-
Coordinate communications
-
Process reservation deposits where applicable
The charter contract is made directly between the client and the yacht owner or charter operator, and their terms and conditions will apply in full. 24 Sailing Holiday is not the owner, operator, or provider of the yacht.
2. Reservation deposit
A reservation deposit is required to secure a yacht charter booking.
The reservation deposit:
-
Confirms the client’s intention to charter a specific yacht
-
Allows us to secure availability and final terms with the owner or operator
-
Is deducted from the total charter price once the booking is confirmed
Payment of the reservation deposit does not constitute a confirmed charter booking until:
-
Availability is confirmed
-
Final pricing is agreed
-
The charter contract is issued
If the yacht is unavailable or the owner declines the booking, the reservation deposit will be refunded in full.
3. Charter confirmation
After the reservation deposit is received:
-
We confirm availability with the yacht owner or operator.
-
Final pricing and terms are agreed.
-
A formal charter agreement is issued.
The booking becomes binding only when:
-
The charter agreement is signed, and
-
The required payments are made.
4. Final balance
The final balance is typically due 4–8 weeks before the charter start date, depending on the owner’s terms.
Final balance payments are made via:
-
Secure Stripe payment links, or
-
Other approved payment methods
Failure to pay the balance by the due date may result in cancellation and forfeiture of the reservation deposit, subject to the owner’s terms.
5. Cancellations and refunds
All cancellations and refunds are governed by the charter agreement issued by the yacht owner or operator.
In general:
-
If the owner cancels the charter, payments will be handled according to the owner’s terms.
-
If the client cancels after confirmation, cancellation charges will apply as stated in the charter contract.
-
Reservation deposits may be non-refundable once the booking is confirmed, depending on the owner’s policy.
Full cancellation terms will be provided before the charter is finalised.
6. Force majeure
Neither 24 Sailing Holiday nor the yacht owner or operator shall be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:
